Old photo that I edited for the project. Don't know why I never did anything with it before!
We are at Day 41 of The 100 Day Project, and I actually can't believe I've managed to either take a new photo or edit a photo every day. Not every photo I've taken has been good, of course, but I'm proud of myself for not missing a day so far.
Originally I thought I'd be posting weekly on Instagram with my new shots, but I quickly ditched that idea after starting. I decided I would just post to my page when I wanted to, sometimes sharing only to my stories, and sometimes just keeping my work to myself.
The only disappointing part of the project has been the lack of engagement from other participants. When the project started I was devoting time to like and/or share other people's work, and other than maybe 1 or 2 new followers, I haven't had the same engagement reciprocated. I realized this project is more targeted towards people who are doing different kind of art - painting, drawing, collage, etc. Not too many photographers seem to be involved in the project, but if you are one and happen to see this - please connect!
I also spent a lot of time in the past few weeks submitting my work to various open calls. One thing I wanted this project to accomplish was make progress clearing out my archive to find images to edit and share. Rediscovering old pieces motivated me to get myself out there. I think I've applied to around ten submission calls, and already heard back from one - I'm getting a photograph published in a digital exhibition with University of Pennsylvania! More to come on that soon.
My 100 Day Project gallery has been updated, which you can see here. Some of my recent favorite images below too!
